Bob had his beginning in industrial operations in the early 1980's through SACDA Inc., a pioneering industrial simulation group from the University of Western Ontario and subsequently with Honeywell Hi-Spec and Process Solutions. Bob gained in-depth experience in Operator behaviour, activities, preferences and goals through the sale, configuration and support of high fidelity Operator Training Simulators (OTS). Bob has interacted with Control Room Operators, Process & Control Engineers, IT Managers and Operations Managers and in the Chemical, Oil&Gas, Pulp&Paper, Mining&Minerals and Power & Utilities industries.

Cliff Pedersen, Principal, Pedersen Enterprises Inc. (Pe^xI)

Cliff co-pioneered multivariable constrained supervisory control at Imperial Oil Ltd. which was a breakthrough in applying digital computers to online advanced process control of refinery process unit operations. At Shell Canada Ltd., Cliff installed their first computer control system which was established as their standard process control and optimization platform for all their operating plants. Suncor Energy Inc. hired Cliff to found advanced process control and optimization technologies as well as Knowledge Networks in advanced control, control systems, production execution, field devices and electrical systems – innovative and forward-thinking cross-functional teams of expert resources.

Equally at home with operators, engineers, managers and executives, Cliff managed all process control & IT activity for Sarnia Refinery as well as all product production applications for Suncor’s operating plants (refineries, oil sands, gas plants, pipelines, utilities).
